Seagate joins CERN openlab as a contributor

Monday, 16 March, 2015

In collaboration with Seagate, CERN openlab will host several joint activities focused on improving efficiency and reducing costs associated with CERN’s colossal and growing storage needs.

The three-year collaboration will work on development of the Seagate Kinetic Open Storage platform. It aims to help CERN better manage and store the 100 petabytes of data the Large Hadron Collider has generated to date, as well as the additional 2-3 petabytes of information it produces on a monthly basis in its quest to further humanity’s understanding of the universe.
