Are you a B.Sc. or M.Sc. student (who will have completed at least three years of full-time studies at university level by next spring) in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering, interested in spending a training period at CERN?

The CERN openlab summer student programme has been designed to provide hands-on research experience and experiential learning along with mentorship from CERN experts.Together with CERN openlab and its partners Huawei, Intel, Oracle, Siemens, contributor Rackspace, and associate Yandex, you will have the opportunity to work on ambitious IT projects with real implementations in domains such as data acquisition, computing platforms, data storage architectures, compute provisioning and management, networks and communication and data analytics.

During the two-month internship (nine weeks), you will also have the chance to attend a series of specialized IT lectures as well as to visit the CERN facilities, leading ICT companies and research laboratories while meeting professionals from CERN, industry and academia.

CERN is a place where dizzying IT challenges abound and the CERN openlab summer student programme may lead to follow-on projects in your home institute at master’s or PhD level. It may even inspire you to become an entrepreneur in cutting-edge computing!

Open up your mind and apply! Deadline for applications is 28 February 2015.
