05/12/2017 CERN Uses Oracle Cloud to Support the LHC Research Program

CERN is working with Oracle to make sure that the future infrastructures can scale out in a reliable and secure way. Given the right technology and operations, most of the applications will end up in the Cloud partially provided by Oracle.

05/12/2017 CERN openlab Summer Students 2018 (Member States and Non MS)

In summer 2018, CERN will offer several residential programmes for high-school students and their teachers. These summer programmes offer the unique chance to explore the fascinating world of particle physics through lectures, on-site visits, hands-on workshops, and ample opportunities to interact with CERN’s scientific community. The programmes will be delivered entirely in English and are open for participants from around the world.

Each summer, the international research laboratory CERN, home to the Large Hadron Collider, welcomes dozens of students to work alongside seasoned scientists on cutting-edge particle physics research. Many of these students will pursue physics research in graduate school, but some find themselves applying the lessons they learned at CERN to new domains.
