CERN openlab is running a pilot hybrid cloud project with Rackspace as the research facility seeks to enable the expansion of its OpenStack environment.

CERN has signed a year-long deal with Rackspace, which will see the cloud hosting provider aid the European Organization for Nuclear Research with a hybrid cloud solution powered by OpenStack.

San Antonio-based cloud hosting firm Rackspace Hosting said today that it is in a deal with research group CERN, to provide its hybrid cloud products to help CERN with its science mission.
