Stefano Alberto Russo

Role(s):
Researcher
Competence center:

 Stefano Alberto Russo obtained his Master of Science degree in Computational Physics at the University of Udine, Italy, with a thesis about the Hadoop/MapReduce approach for monitoring the CERN storage system and improving the ATLAS computing model. He developed his thesis work in close collaboration with the CERN IT department (as Technical Student) and with the ATLAS experiment. He previously obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Trieste, Italy, with a thesis on the benchmarking of scientific codes on GRID and HPC infrastructures, developed in collaboration with the SISSA/ISSAS (International School of advanced studies), Trieste, Italy. His research interests are focused on big data analysis, data analytics, real time processing and in general on the study of new techniques for analysing huge and/or complex data sets. He joined CERN openlab as Fellow in 2013 and is now working on data analysis based on Oracle, Complex Event Processing and forecasting.
