openlab summer student programme invites 2012 applications!

Monday, 16 January, 2012

The openlab student programme is open for applications from bachelor, master and PhD students in computer science and physics. Successful applicants will spend two months at CERN, during the period June to September 2012, to work with some of the latest hardware and software technologies.

The programme is more than just a summer at CERN: it can lead to follow-on projects at the home institute and may even inspire entrepreneurs in cutting-edge computing technologies. A series of lectures by experts in various domains of CERN related to high-throughput computing, and study tours to universities and CERN facilities are also part of the programme.

All nationalities are welcome to apply, as long as the home institute supports the application.

The students receive a 5000 CHF stipend for their eight weeks stay, sponsored by CERN and the CERN openlab industrial partners.

Please visit www.cern.ch/openlab-students for more information. Candidates shouldsubmit their application at www.cern.ch/jobs  and attach the following documents: CV, recommendation letter(s) by university supervisor(s), and motivation letter with an indication of preferred are of work (incomplete applications will not be considered). The closing date is 30 March 2012.
