CERN’s Data Stores Soar to 530M Gigabytes

Since restarting in June 2015 after a two-year upgrade, the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, has been recording about 3GB of data per second, or about 25 petabytes — that’s 25 million gigabytes — of data per year.
