The openlab summer students present their projects to the public

Wednesday, 28 August, 2013

For the first year, the CERN openlab summer students were invited to give "Lightning Talks". In six minutes and four slides maximum, they introduced the audience to their project, explained the technical challenges they faced, and analysed the results of their work.

A panel composed of CERN IT department management and the audience voted for their three prefered talks. According to the combined results, the three best presentations were given by:

  1. Rocio Rama - Ballesteros (Integration of network monitoring data in FTS3)
  2. Juan - Jose Fumero - Alfonso (Vectorization with Haswell and Cilk+)
  3. Gary - Andrew Mcgilvary (The Implementation of OpenStack Cinder and Integration with NetApp and Ceph)
